✨ 🐺 Shifters were promising… the rest? Not so much.
🔍 Shifter Wars (Book 1): Slow Burn… Then Side-Eye
It took me a bit to get into this series. The mystery and story arc were a slow start, but once things began unfolding, I was mildly hooked. The guessability worked, with just enough WTF moments to keep me curious.
That said—the plot got real questionable. Adult laser tag as a life-or-death solution between werewolves and an ancient tribe? I’m sorry, but no. Every “battle” felt cheesy instead of intense. Andie wanted to be a badass so badly, but she was easily manipulated and frustratingly naive.
Do you know what turns me on? When you press your hand to your cheek. Fucking irresistible.”
What worked:
🐺 The shifters
🖤 Alaric/Sascha (solid MMC)
😏 Wade’s humor
What didn’t:
❌ Silly plot
❌ No steam (just flirting)
❌ Andie’s unexplained wolf hatred
💭 Final Verdict
Do you love fast-paced, high-intensity reads with real tension?
Yeah… this isn’t it.
I’m calling it here and DNF’ing the rest of the series. Shifters deserved better, Sascha deserved better, and honestly? So did my time. 🐺✨
⭐️⭐️ 2/5 from this “Good Girl”
✨ Final vibe: promising concept, great shifters… but not enough payoff to keep me invested. 🐺💔
